Flotsam and Jetsam

My heart skips a beat when I see a truly loved home. As far as I'm concerned, the best homes are the ones with soul and personality. Little bits and pieces gathered here and there, the flotsam and jetsam of a life well-lived, and quirky snippets and keepsakes are what elevates a home from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Perfect imperfection.

I don't quite know what to make of this, but I did tell you to expect the unexpected!

So, what's your favourite piece that makes your house uniquely you? I'd love to know what it is you cherish - maybe you've brought something back from a great holiday, or is it a family treasure handed down from a loved one? If you want to go one further and send me a photo, I'll do a follow-up post featuring your treasures in all their glory. Ooh, this could be fun!

Another I LOVE

Speaking of artists I love...I was first introduced to Laura Trevey when a client of mine showed me these watercolors she bought on Etsy...(horrible picture, I snapped this to remember the colors, not thinking one day I would post it)It was love at first site. I LOVE watercolors and the fact that they are very affordable makes me love even more. On top of that I was pleased to find out that Laura is just as sweet as the paintings she makes. When I saw her new hydrangea series I knew I had to share them...
Love this guy...
A few more I love...
One of these will be mine...
For more of her work be sure to check out Laura's Etsy shop and also check out her beautiful Blog

Dear John (Robinette)

Dear John Robinette,

I hope I am not being to forward but I love you, well I should say love your work. Actually obsessed may be a more accurate word. When a client in Memphis sent me an image of a painting you did she was thinking of purchasing I almost feel out of my chair. I was hit by LOVE. She purchased two and I must admit I am feeling jealous. Beside the Memphis/Mississippi connection we share, what is most striking about your paintings is that they seem to actually glow. This weekend in Oxford I was able to view some of your works in person at the Southside Gallery...They were setting up for the show, that is why these are on the floor....
This one will be mine one day, no not the big one....
This little guy right here....See the reserved for Marianne Strong sign right beside it (okay maybe that is just a plug but a girl can dream can't she?)
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE....LOVE.
Saving my pennies...

Why thank you!

I'm feeling absolutely chuffed this week - I am the lucky recipient of two blog awards! Thanks so much to my sweet blog buddy Kerry at A Tranquil Townhouse, and the lovely Judy at Verandah House for their kind awards - you've made my week! Add these to my award from the gorgeous Amanda at Homely One last week, and I'm one happy little camper!

Now, these would have to be some of the most generous and supportive and people ever, and they've made my foray into the blogosphere so much fun. Amanda was one of the very first people to leave a comment for me, and she's been such a sweetheart with her kind words and encouragement. Kerry's beautiful blog is like a breath of fresh air, her wit and personality shine through and she is just so lovely to boot. And I've been a long-time reader of Judy's for quite some time now, initially over at Lily-G and now at Verandah House. Her posts are so stylish and fabulous, and add to that her new adventure with a move to the Byron Bay hinterland, and you have blog heaven! All I can say is make sure you put aside some time to read these fantastic blogs, you'll be so glad you did!

See you soon,

Complex Apartment Interior Design in Soho

As most of you already know, Soho is short for “South Houston” and refers to a small neighborhood located South of Manhattan. This complex apartment design seems to counterweight the crazy and chaotic lifestyle of this particular USA region. The flat features an interesting terrace of impressive dimensions, a place of relaxation and promising outdoor parties. Interiors are airy and spacious. The living-room houses an interesting white bookcase and a dining area. Original looking wooden stairs connect the flat with the upper terrace, a symbol of living life “in the big city”
